Using a drain pump is necessary when the natural gravity flow is insufficient to drain water from your ice machine, which can occur if the drain pipe is too high above the level of the ice machine’s drainage point. In such cases, a drain pump is essential to actively lift the water and move it through the pipe, ensuring effective and consistent drainage.

Without a drain pump in this scenario, the water may not be able to flow properly, leading to potential overflow, water damage, and operational issues with the ice machine. Therefore, installing a drain pump becomes crucial to ensure the efficient removal of water from the ice machine, preventing potential damage and maintaining proper functioning.

Included in this kit is the Sauermann Si-83 drain pump, hose and mains power.
